ABBU (EPISODE EIGHT)

Today I met few people who use to work under abbu, the lower staff you may say while I was in the mess for dinner today, I met three people, a peon, a guard and a mess caretaker. We were having dinner when suddenly one of them started talking about abbu and made me realise some more good acts of my father.

Since day one of me and my brother moving here has made us both realise that everyone whom we meet has to say only one thing about abbu and that is ‘he was the one who used to take care of us, who looked after us and that now we have no one but Allah, any thing that used to happen to us back then we would never worry and always thought ‘Ali Sher sahab’ is here’.

I came to know many things that he would generally never share with us being the kind of down to earth person that he was masha Allah.

One of them shares that ‘I had not enough money while I was getting my daughter married, I went to sahab’s office and told him the matter, he asked how much do I wanted? i replied 25000, he said how are you going to return as you are on daily wages? I replied I will return you in instalments with this sahab said that in this way your whole salary will be finished in instalments. According to the man sahab waited for a few minutes and then asked, okay how are you going to find it easy while paying the instalments? The man says, ‘1 thousand per month’ sahab then agreed but told me that it will take 20 months for me to complete the instalments. After 15 instalments sahab said ‘Baba ( this is how he used to refer to almost everyone) there are still 5 instalments for you to complete. To which I replied ‘G sain’ however on sahab replied ‘I will complete those myself, don’t worry’

We sat there for almost two hours talking about how he helped everyone and due to which on the third day of his demise the lower staff i.e peons, guards, gardeners and office workers, everyone had arrange a bus, a bus that was entirely packed with people who travelled all way 230km on their own expenses just for the love that they had for abbu.

Today while I’m writing this I realise that Abbu is still alive in the hearts of people he knew or people who met him even once, to all those reading this I request you to please pray for my father though there was a-lot to learn  from him but we shall not speak on Allah’s will as we all shall return to him sooner or later.

Ending this with this one last thing that one of the guard shared he says’ Ali Sher sahab jehro marhun kair thendo, sadiyun me un jehro marhun paida thendo ahey, asan je matha chatt hui haren Ali Sher sahab kha poye uha chatt tuti payi aa, asan chowkidaaran lae office ma chai eendi hui cho ta Ali Sher Sahab hik chakar chayo ho ta bahar jeke bitha ahin uhe bh insan ahin, unje wanjarn kha poye chai acharn band the wayi aa’
